Quantum Leap SILK is a vector-based music-making software that allows a user to design their own music with the help of a graphical interface. Developed by Splice Ensemble, the software can produce and export audio files (WAV, MIDI and AIFF) for inclusion into your application, site, CD-ROM, or ring-buffer sequence. Quantum Leap SILK supports a rich library of MIDI commands, including MIDI sequencing and control, metronome, and gating. The program has a limited number of pre-built patterns, including harmonic, triadic, duple and quadruple meter, standard and swing, with many more available through import from external MIDI file formats.
A MIDI-to-MIDI converter allows users to compose and sequence MIDI patterns using a MIDI sequencer. The user can also import MIDI files into a pattern sequence using a MIDI sequencer or the edit pattern dialog, or by entering a series of notes in the Notes in MIDI Edit dialog. The user can also edit the MIDI file content in the Edit MIDI dialog.
Quantum Leap SILK features a rich library of audio effects, including the ability to view any effect as a waveform and apply any available effect to it. Stereo reverb, chorus, phaser, and delay are included. Effects can be applied in real time or via MIDI controllers, and in a variety of ways: blend or blend-and-modulate, cross fade, delay or modulate, dry or overdrive.
